Prime Minister Visits Slovenian Health Ministry

Prime Minister Borut Pahor visited the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia today, where he met with Minister Borut Miklavčič and his collaborators at a working meeting. Mr Pahor and Mr Miklavčič pointed out that there is a need for reform and  transformation in this sensitive area, to be carried out in a manner which will improve the accessibility of as many health services as possible for all, irrespective of social or other differences.

They also expressed their conviction that reform will require a broad consensus and progressive and careful planning. By the end of February, the Ministry will thus prepare two draft laws, i.e. the Health Services Act and the Health Care and Health Insurance Act.

In the area of health reform, Prime Minister Pahor expects an in-depth professional discussion, as this is the only way to provide the required support for the proposed laws in the National Assembly.
