Prime Minister Borut Pahor meets representatives of the banking sector

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor, today held a meeting with representatives of the banking sector. After the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with its outcome, stressing that meetings of this kind are very constructive and will be held on a regular basis in the future.

“We need each other,” he said, emphasising that the current crisis had arisen outside Slovenia, and that it was important for Slovenia to be updated on measures taken by other countries to tackle the crisis, while at the same time looking for its own solutions. He further said the Government would coordinate policies needed to overcome the crisis with representatives of the banking sector.

 

“In little more than two months of its work, the Government has successfully dealt with problems linked to the financial and economic crisis,” concluded the Prime Minister, adding that he looks ahead with optimism.
