Drinking excessive amounts of alcohol and alcohol abuse often lead to tragic consequences, either on the road, in the family environment or in the workplace.  These problems are real and we must face them because it is our duty to help each and every individual find a way out of the difficult situation they are in.

The Prime Minister highlighted sport as one of the more appropriate methods of coping with the stresses and strains of our daily lives.  Playing sports gives us time to think about our problems, and it strengthens our spirit as well as our health.

In a gesture of solidarity with all citizens and residents of Slovenia who are experiencing problems as the result of excessive consumption of alcohol, the Prime Minister will take part in the “40 days without alcohol” campaign, which begins today, calling on people to join the campaign and set an example for others to follow, thus improving the quality of life of every member of our society.
