In a statement to the press after the meeting, Mr Pahor expressed his hope that the National Assembly would adopt legislation related to the war as soon as possible. “I hope that the war laws are adopted with broad support if not by acclamation,” said the Prime Minister. He mentioned the War Grave Sites Act as a priority. According to Mr Pahor, this Act should be adopted as soon as possible. “Our strenuous efforts to combat the financial, economic and social crisis and committed engagement with other open issues should not divert our attention from questions concerning the war and post-war history, and particularly the ethical dimension of our existence,” he added.
