Prime Minister Borut Pahor attends gala ceremony

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, yesterday attended a gala ceremony celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Jožef Štefan Institute, and the presentation of Jožef Štefan Golden Emblem Prizes. The aim of this traditional ceremony is to remember the renowned Slovenian physicist, Jožef Štefan, to promote the popularisation of science and to encourage scientific excellence among young people. The prizes are awarded annually for the best doctoral thesis in the fields of natural sciences and mathematics, technical sciences and life sciences. This year, the prize winners are Dr Ilija Bizjak, Dr Miha Založnik and Dr Tina Pangršič.
