Prime Minister Pahor visits the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, accompanied by the Minister of Health, Borut Miklavčič, today visited the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia, where representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Institute of Public Health informed them about the preparedness of Slovenia for potential infections with a new influenza virus.

In his statement to the press following his visit to the Institute, Prime Minister Pahor stressed that the Government would do everything in its power to take appropriate and correct measures in the event of a pandemic. At tomorrow’s session, the Government will also set up a coordination group, as provided for in the preparedness plan for influenza pandemics. He particularly stressed the importance of providing information to the public and confidence in measures adopted by competent bodies.
