Prime Minister Borut Pahor attends the ceremony to commemorate the first armed resistance against the occupation of the Slovenian territories

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today attended a ceremony held at Mala gora near Ribnica to commemorate the first armed resistance against the occupation of the Slovenian territories at which he also delivered an address. Mr Pahor highlighted the importance of resistance at the time of the fascist occupation of the territory, stressing that "the anti-fascist TIGR movement and the national liberation struggle secured ultimate freedom and the restitution of the Primorska region to the original homeland."

In his address, he also pointed out the problems facing our society today. These problems are of a different nature, and defeating them requires a different kind of struggle, including "overcoming selfishness and working together for the common good," he said. "Today, the freedom of many individuals is not at risk in terms of their elementary existence, but in terms of their economic and social existence," Prime Minister Pahor concluded.
