Prime Minister Pahor at opening of new production line at Hidria plant in Koper

The Slovenian Prime Minister, Borut Pahor, today attended the opening of a new production line for high-technology products for the automotive industry at theHidria company in Koper. At the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Pahor emphasised that the Government will further promote the production and export of high-technology products, which represents "the most valuable component of our competitiveness."

Prime Minister Pahor also pointed out the importance of structural changes, which will be subject to public debate, since the Government is tackling these changes in difficult times of global recession and associated shrinking global trade.Mr Pahor stressed that "changes in this area are necessary, as they will ensure greater competitiveness and thus also social security and solidarity."
 
All the participants in the so-called development dialogue to be convened by Prime Minister Pahor at the beginning of July are asked to take part in the public debate on structural changes, which the Government aims to have prepared by the autumn.
