At the meeting, businesspeople highlighted the need for significant measures for better operation of the tourist economy and for mitigation of the consequences of the financial crisis. Prime Minister Pahor proposed regular meetings as a contribution to better communication and said that the Government would do everything in its power to help the tourist economy through appropriate anti-crisis measures.

Businesspeople involved in tourism invited the Government to amend the Promotion of Tourism Development Act to allow for the use of resources for investments in tourist infrastructure and in promotion. They also proposed measures for stimulating competition in tourist air transport and the introduction of new air services, as well as a simpler and more friendly regime for obtaining tourist visas.
