Prime Minister Pahor meets human rights ombudsman Čebašek-Travnik

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today met the Slovenian human rights ombudsman, Dr Zdenka Čebašek-Travnik. On this occasion, Dr Čebašek-Travnik delivered the 14th Regular Annual Report of the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia to Prime Minister Pahor.

 

After the meeting, Mr Pahor thanked Dr Čebašek-Travnik for her diligent and dedicated work and said that the Ombudsman's Office of the Republic of Slovenia is becoming an important institution for strengthening human rights in our country. He particularly stressed that the work of the ombudsman and her colleagues should be genuinely respected and valued, given that the number of initiatives addressed to the human rights ombudsman has been increasing, primarily in areas concerning children, disabled and elderly people.

"The ombudsman’s annual report is very well prepared; the Government will draft a response report and submit it to the National Assembly. We will make every effort to ensure that it is thoroughly discussed by the ministers and by the National Assembly," concluded the Prime Minister.
