Prime Minister’s press conference

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, at today's press conference following the 36th regular Government session, informed the public that he is very likely to meet his Croatian counterpart, Jadranka Kosor, as early as this month.  However, a precise date has not yet been set, as the event is still in the coordination phase.

At today's session, the Government adopted a decision on granting a financial incentive of EUR 14.3 million to REVOZ d.d., the Novo Mesto-based car company, for the investment project "New Vehicle X33 Production Project by Revoz, d.d., Novo Mesto". In terms of quantity, the annual plan by REVOZ envisages the manufacturing of 20,000 X33 vehicles; the respective development and production facilities will be provided in Slovenia.  Through this financial incentive, the Government intends to make a contribution to maintaining and improving the company's economic competitiveness in international markets, as well as to encouraging investments and creating new jobs.

The ministers also adopted the Regulation on Implementation of the Operational Fisheries Development Programme in Slovenia for 2007–2013.  The Programme envisages six measures relating to three priority areas aimed at adapting the Slovenian fishing fleet to existing fishing possibilities and modernising the fish processing plants and fishing ports in the Koper, Izola and Piran coastal communities. The above measures are expected to facilitate improvement of existing working and hygienic conditions in these ports, to regulate the primary points of sale of fish, to encourage development of new fish and fishing product markets and to enhance the overall integration of Slovenian fisheries.
