Prime Minister Pahor meets Senator Blažina and presidents of Slovene umbrella organisations in Italy

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today held an informative meeting with Italian Senator Tamara Blažina and the presidents of the two Slovene umbrella organisations in Italy, Rudi Pavšič of the Slovene Cultural and Economic Union and Drago Štoka of the Council of Slovene Organisations.

 

The purpose of this encounter was an exchange of information before the meeting between the Slovenian Prime Minister and the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, Silvio Berlusconi. Senator Blažina and Mr Pavšič and Mr Štoka informed Mr Pahor of the main topics which are of utmost importance to the Slovene minority in Italy.

 

The participants of the meeting also touched upon certain other open issues which concern the Slovene minority. Among other things, they raised the issue of the funding of the Slovenian Permanent Theatre in Trieste and respect of the Slovene minority's rights.
