Prime Minister Pahor supports the "Act now!" campaign for a global climate agreement

The Prime Minister of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, has offered his support for the "Act now!" project being implemented under the auspices of a number of international environmental groups with the common objective of mitigating human influence on climate change. According to Prime Minister Pahor, the disastrous consequences of climate change are becoming more pronounced with each passing day, so it is time to act to prevent a possible catastrophe. Mr Pahor said he welcomed the action and that Slovenia needed to actively respond to the climate crisis.

Changes in the climate have a decisive impact on the quality of our lives, he added, and numerous natural disasters seen over the past decades are clearly linked to them. The conference on climate change that will take place in Copenhagen in December to agree on a new pact to replace the Kyoto Protocol will address these issues. This gathering of world leaders will be the perfect occasion to agree on prevention of further escalation of the consequences of global warming and on building a better and safer world.

Prime Minister Pahor endorses the idea of an ambitious and just climate agreement for sustainable development, social welfare, health and stability.
