Views were exchanged concerning expectations with regard to the outcome of the Climate Change Conference, which is to take place from 7 to 18 December in Copenhagen. In addition, the Government adopted ambitious positions to be discussed within the EU framework in view of negotiations concerning the new climate change agreement. The interlocutors agreed that the draft declaration on Slovenia’s active role in formulating new world policy on climate change, adopted unanimously by the parliamentary Environment and Spatial Policy Committee, constituted a solid basis for further work by the Government. At the end of the reception, Prime Minister Pahor said that Slovenia certainly would continue its efforts to transition to a low-carbon society.
