Slovenia to host ACER Energy Agency

Competing with two strong candidates, Slovakia and Romania, Slovenia won the seat of the Agency for Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) yesterday evening. ACER is one of the key agencies of the European Union, which gives this success even greater significance.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, greeted the news with enthusiasm and said that "this is a great achievement for Slovenia, made possible by the coordinated operations of the entire Government of the Republic of Slovenia"; on this occasion he also thanked all those who had supported Slovenia's candidacy and congratulated them on a job well done.  Prime Minister Pahor also expressed his personal thanks to the leaders of the EU Member States who had expressed their support of Slovenia's candidacy.
