Prime Minister Pahor: Tourism is a great opportunity for Slovenia and we should not miss it

The Slovenian Prime Minister, Borut Pahor, today at the Government Palace met the representatives of the Slovenian tourism sector. The interlocutors discussed the proposals of the tourism sector, the draft tourism strategy 2010-2011 and the long-term visions of tourism development.   In the statement to the press following the meeting, Prime Minister Pahor stressed that tourism is a great opportunity for Slovenia which our country should mot miss and added that during its present term of office, the Government will draw particular attention to tourism.

He went on to say that within the context of the promotion for giving tourism a new impetus, also a special Government session has been planned for the beginning of spring, where short-term and long-term measures will be adopted to support tourism after the recession and "to outline at the same time the strategic vision of Slovenia’s development as a recognized tourist destination on the Europe and world tourist map." Prime Minister Pahor especially highlighted the importance of foreign investments for the Slovenian tourism sector.  "Foreign investments are desirable and we must create such a business environment that those who are prepared to invest in Slovenian tourism will do so."
