Slovenian Prime Minister meets Slovakian President Ivan Gašparovič

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today met with the President of the Slovak Republic, Dr Ivan Gašparovič, who, accompanied by an economic delegation, is on a two-day official visit to Slovenia. Mr Pahor and Dr Gašparovič assessed the bilateral relations as good and confirmed the high level of political and economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Pahor said that there are no open issues between the two countries, while the Slovakian President highlighted the high level of cooperation, both at the bilateral and international level. Mr Pahor thanked Dr Gašparovič for Slovakia's support to Slovenia in organising the conference on the Western Balkans. The two dignitaries agreed that it is imperative that the countries of this region become members of the European Union, as this is the only way to stabilize the situation in the Balkans.
