The representatives of both, the corporate and banking sector, supported the envisaged solutions provided for by the Act. During the discussion on measures to be adopted, they nevertheless emphasised the urgency of the adoption of amendments to the legislation governing enforcement and compulsory settlement procedures, as well as the placement of infrastructure projects in the environment.  In his statement to the press after the meeting, Prime Minister Pahor said that the current situation requires changes if we want to go ahead and provide for a long-term development. "The key question to be posed to ourselves is how to finance our further development," emphasised Mr Pahor. Slovenia should open its market to foreign partners, because we cannot afford ourselves to keep increasing our public debt. "At tomorrow's session, the Government will adopt the proposal for a new guarantee scheme and further assist the banks in increasing their lending activities", announced Prime Minister Pahor.
