"We need a person who has experience and vision, and who is pragmatic and practical and wishes to prove his abilities," emphasised Mr Pahor. The outcome of today's meeting was the agreement that following the next meeting in May after all relevant questions have been answered, arrangements would be made for the beginning of an immediate cooperation. "We want to make the Slovenian Railways a modern operator of passenger and freight transport services and place the company in the European infrastructure; we also see it as an integral part of a large logistic centre," emphasised the Slovenian Prime Minister. Mr Hartmut Mehdorn explained that cooperation would begin by consulting the representatives of the Slovenian Railways, and be followed by the presentation of the proposals for possible solutions and operational activities. In this respect he noted that he had not come to Slovenia to make money but due to good relations and because he wants to help.
