Prime Minister Pahor takes questions from parliamentary deputies

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, answered questions from deputies at the 18th regular session of the Slovenian National Assembly. Three questions were raised by opposition deputies and one came from the coalition side.

The first question was posed by Zmago Jelinčič Plemeniti, head of the SNS deputy group, who asked Prime Minister Pahor when the Government intended to draft amendments to electoral legislation and submit them to the National Assembly.  Deputy Andrej Vizjak from the SDS group asked the Prime Minister about concrete short-term priority measures to stimulate the economy and directly affect economic growth. The next question came from deputy Jakob Presečnik from the SLS group and referred to the drafting of the supplementary budget.  Deputy Presečnik wished to know whether the Prime Minister had instructed direct and indirect budget users to reduce material costs and which budget users followed these instructions. The last question was raised by Deputy Bojan Kontič from the SD group who asked Mr Pahor about the implementation of the agreements adopted by the Government during its visits to different regions. Mr Kontič also inquired about the progress made on the amendments to the Promotion of Balanced Regional Development Act and wished to know when the new law providing for a more effective siting of linear facilities would be drawn up in order to achieve faster and more balanced regional development.
