Slovenian Prime Minister attends opening of motorway section at Trebnje

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today attended the opening of a motorway section at Trebnje. Having a total length of 105 kilometres, this section represents the completion of the construction of the Dolenjska region motorway link between Ljubljana and Obrežje. In his opening address dedicated to this important event, Mr Pahor emphasised that the completion of this motorway section is an important contribution of the state to the consolidation and promotion of the regional competitive advantages, as well as a positive contribution to the general road safety in Slovenia.

Prime Minister Pahor went on to express his wish that the population of this region would stay there and not leave it because of poor transport connections: "Today's opening underlines the justification of the construction and the importance of this modern transport link for the economy and the population of both, this region and the entire Slovenia." On behalf of the Slovenian Government, Mr Pahor thanked everybody, who in this "mission impossible", had helped slice the Gordian knot, which threatened to drastically postpone the completion of this section, and enabled us to jointly celebrate its opening today
