Prime Minister Pahor as Guest at the Entrepreneurs’ Forum

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, attended at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia this afternoon, the Entrepreneurs’ Forum event – a forum of the best where he participated in the discussion on entrepreneurship and relationship of the state towards the establishment of healthy entrepreneurial environment.  In his introduction, Prime Minister Pahor summarised his feelings after seeing the film "The best in Slovenian regions« which those present saw at the beginning of the event, namely »there are enterprises which are considered as crisis breakers who have innovative ideas, winners who will get Slovenia out of this crisis which the entire world faces. I wish that this would be noticeable even more. But it is our nature not to trust our own success very quickly.”

Slovenia has recovered from the recession, however, it did not overcome the crisis;  this will take a longer time, estimated Prime Minister Pahor and briefly presented anti-crisis measures of the Government and economic indicators. »Most of the measures from the exit strategy have been carried out, therefore we are commended by Europe, however, the way out of the crisis will take longer,« told Slovenian Prime Minister Pahor. » I believe that the highly disturbed balance of political, economic and military powers as we have been witnessing in the international community currently cannot pass without a security situation,« emphasised the Prime Minister, ”unless the history will surprise us by regaining a balance of these powers«.

Prime Minister Pahor answered the question about the trust in the functioning of a legal state or state institutions by stressing that it is necessary "to consolidate the foundations of the rule of law, strengthen the pillars of competitiveness and pursue social cohesion. There are no simple solutions and to get out of the crisis, certain unpopular measures will have to be taken.« Mr Pahor underlined that the coming year will be a difficult one, since after the pension reform, the Government plans to make reforms in the health care system, in the labour market and in the public administration sector. It all »depends on the basic trust in politics that it works for the common good and that the citizens do not think that there are partial interests hiding behind unpopular measures,« said Mr Pahor.  However, the question arises of whether the general public will withstand “the extremely tense situation,” concluded the Prime Minister.
