Prime Minister Pahor attends business excellence prize award ceremony: “In the presence of the excellence, we need not fear the crisis.”

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, attended the ceremony on the occasion of the award of business excellence prizes of the Republic of Slovenia (PRSPO) for 2010, where he also delivered an address as the speaker of honour. In his opening address the Prime Minister Pahor stressed that in the time of crisis the society has to set its goals above the average: “Although it may sound unattainable, this must be our goal, for it is only by strieving to do our best that we need not fear to lose the battle against crisis”.

   

Prime Minister Pahor went on to emphasise that in the past period the Slovenian Government adopted several measures, while a few new documents are underway, which will contribute towards a favourable business environment with possibilities for the development of new options offering opportunities and chances to young generations to join various forms of business environments.

   

To this end, the Slovenian Government is preparing a new document entitled “The Strategy of Quality and Excellence in 2011 to 2016”, with the emphasis laid on the very promotion of business excellence, further explained the Prime Minister. “Also by appointing state repesentatives to management bodies and by encouraging as rapid as possible implementation of excellence elements, such as education of supervisory boards, organisations’ management and experts in those organisations, we will help to promote the European model of excellence and thus also excellence in business and in the society in general," added  Prime Minister Borut Pahor. At the close of his address, Prime Minister Pahor congratulated all finalists on their results achieved within the competition for business excellence award for 2010 and welcomed them to the society of excellence.
