Prime Minister's press conference held after the Government’s 124th regular session

At today’s regular session, the Government adopted several regulations regarding the EU and OECD, and the Government took certain positions on the operation of the EU and OECD. During the session, the Government adopted the proposals for many important bills and adopted several decrees within the Government's competence in the filed of international relations. At the press conference that followed the session of the Government, the responsible ministers outlined the major resolutions and Prime Minister Pahor answered some topical questions of the press.

  

At its today's session, the Government adopted the proposed position of the Republic of Slovenia regarding the proposal for a Directive on the use of passenger name records for the prevention, detection, investigation and prosecution of terrorism and serious crime, adopted a position on the proposal for a Directive on the control of major accident hazards involving dangerous substances, on the Decision on approval of trade in products containing genetically modified cotton, on the Decision to extend the placing on the market of existing feed produced from genetically modified maize DAS1507, and on Draft Council Conclusions on addressing the challenges of raw material and commodity markets.

   

Under the point of the agenda relating to laws and resolutions, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia formulated the text of the proposal to initiate proceedings to modify the amendments the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia by means of a Draft Constitutional Act Amending the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia, adopted a proposal for an Act Amending the Financial Operations, Insolvency Proceedings and Compulsory Dissolution Act, proposal for an Act Amending the Enforcement and Securing of Civil Claims Act, proposal for Scholarship Act, formulated a proposal for Resolution on the National Higher Education Programme 2011-2020, proposal for Resolution on Research and Innovation Strategy of Slovenia 2011-2020, adopted its opinion on the Proposal for Act Amending the Personal Income Tax Act and on the Proposal for Act Amending the Integrity and Corruption Prevention Act.

  

Moreover, the Government adopted and issued the following decrees and resolutions: issued a Decree amending the Decree laying down the specific amount and the rate of proportional excise duty on cigarettes, adopted a Decree on the internal organisation, systemisation, posts and titles within bodies of public administration and judicial bodies, confirmed the changes in operational programmes which are the basis for drawing on EU cohesion funds, laid down the creation of compulsory stocks of crude oil and petroleum products for 2011, supplemented the toll price list for the use of toll roads, exempted Slovenain Railways from payment of user fees within the mandatory public service of carriage of passengers, signed agreements for the performance of the mandatory public service of railway traffic management, and took note of the Report on the implementation of the tasks and attainment of the objectives of the 2nd stage of the Action Programme for Eliminating Administrative Barriers and Reducing Administrative Burdens by 25% by 2012 and of the implementation of the Programme of Measures to Eliminate Administrative Barriers, 01005-1/2009. The Government also took note of the Report on the implementation of tasks and attainment of objectives of the 2nd stage of the Action Programme for Reducing Administrative Burdens by 25% by 2012 and implementation of the Programme of Measures to Eliminate Administrative Barriers, 01005-1/2009, together with  the annual report on the operation of the web tool predlagam.vladi.si; the Government also gave its approval to an additional study area of a member of the University of Ljubljana, extended the concession granted to the company INCLUB for organising special games of chance in the casino in Nova Gorica, rejected the request of the company EXIMO for an extension of the concession for organising special games of chance in the casino in Nova Gorica and confirmed the concessionaire for dealing with animal by-products.

  

In the field of international relations the Government of the Republic of Slovenia formulated at today's session the text of the proposal of the Act Ratifying the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Cape Verde on Development Cooperation, issued a Decree on the Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and the Government of the Republic of Croatia on the Construction of a Road Bridge on the Border River Sotla at the International Road Border Crossing Imeno – Miljana, took note of the information on the intention to conclude a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Defence of Montenegro and of the information on the intention to sign a note of accession of the Republic of Albania to NATO's special operations centre.
