Prime Minister Borut Pahor receives Japanese Ambassador Toshimitsu Ishigure

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, today, 15 March 2011, received the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Slovenia, Toshimitsu Ishigure.   The Ambassador began by thanking the Slovene Government and the Slovene people for the condolences and sympathy extended and expressed gratitude on behalf of the Japanese authorities for Slovenia’s readiness to provide help.   Prime Minister Pahor and Ambassador Ishigure discussed the possible ways of providing support to overcome the effects of the natural disaster that hit Japan.  Taking into account the needs and suggestions put forward by the Japanese authorities, the Slovene Government will explore the type of support Slovenia could provide to Japan in line with its capabilities as early as at its regular session on Thursday.

   

According to Ambassador Ishigure, to date, no Slovene citizens have been found among the victims discovered, nor have they appeared on the list of missing persons.  Finally, Prime Minister Pahor and the Ambassador Ishigure also agreed on setting up a system for regular communication between the two governments.
