The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, is on an official visit to the Republic of Croatia. The main purpose of the visit is the meeting to be held with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Jadranka Kosor, with whom he has laid the foundation stone for the Slovenian company Calcit's new production facility in the town of Gospić. In his statement to the press, Prime Minister Pahor said that Slovenia is witnessing 'an increase in the climate of economic optimism' for the first time in two and a half years, while Croatian Prime Minister Kosor assessed that economic relations between the two countries are continuously improving.

Prime Minister Pahor added that Slovenia is experiencing a higher rate of economic growth as well as a decreasing unemployment rate. He also expressed that he was looking forward to seeing Prime Minister Kosor at the EU summit to be held in Brussels on 24 June, and stressed that he would be the one clapping hardest for the Croatian Prime Minister. Prime Minister Kosor expressed her hope that Croatia would enjoy the support of Slovenia throughout the final stages of the EU accession process. It is her view that, after signing the arbitration agreement, the strengthening of economic cooperation between the countries is to be the fundamental objective.
