Prime Minister Pahor condemns the violence in Syria

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, has joined many other leaders from all over the world in condemning the continued and long-term violence against peaceful protesters in Syria, and the resulting mass violation of human rights by the Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, and his regime.

   

Slovenia has joined the calls for the regime to immediately desist from violence and attacks on civilians, and also calls for the commencement of democratic dialogue within the framework of a comprehensive reform process. With a view to preventing further violence, Slovenia actively participates in EU discussions on strengthening restrictive measures against the regime.
