Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, acting as the Minister for Public Administration, today signed the Annex to the Collective Agreement for Healthcare Employees and the Annex to the Collective Agreement for the Health Care and Social Care Activity of Slovenia with Dorijan Marušič, the Minister of Health, Franc Križanič, the Minister of Finance, and the representatives of relevant trade unions in health care.

The payment of nurses with secondary education has been a long-term problem for which the Ministry of Health listed a suitable systematic solution in the framework of the new draft Health Services Act confirmed by the Government in 2010. The solution continued to be sought in 2011, when the Ministry of Public Administration proposed that the legal basis for placing nurses with secondary education on two jobs (one of them a position of registered nurse) should be arranged by means of an annex to the collective agreement for nurses. As a result of multi-annual negotiations with trade unions and harmonisation among ministries, the Annex is the most that the Government can still offer the trade unions.
