LOVRO LONČAR M.SC., STATE SECRETARY

Lovro Lončar was born in 1968 in Ljubljana. He lives in Vir pri Domžalah with his family. He attended Poljane Secondary School for Social Studies in Ljubljana. In 1988 he continued his education as a full-time student at the College of Administration (now the Faculty of Administration) of the University of Ljubljana, where he graduated in 1991. The following year, he enrolled in the Faculty of Organisational Sciences in Kranj as a part-time student, and graduated in 1998. He obtained his master's degree in general human resource management from the same faculty in May 2004.

 

He began his career as a trainee at FILC d. d. Mengeš. In 1992 he began working as an adviser at the Kamnik branch office of the Employment Service of Slovenia. In September 1995 he was appointed secretary of Domžale Municipal Council. In December 1998, he became faculty secretary at the Faculty of Administration of the University of Ljubljana. In June 2000 he was appointed Secretary-General at the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs. From February 2001 to 2004 he worked as a deputy group's secretary in the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia. During the 2004–2008 term of office, he held the office of Secretary-General of the National Assembly. Since 2009 he has held the position of Secretary-General at the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs.

 

His areas of expertise focus on work organisation, public administration and human resource management. He has had several articles published on these issues.

 

Since 2002 he has been a member of Domžale Municipal Council. He was appointed Deputy Mayor of Domžale in a non-professional capacity in 2011. He also holds the office of President of the Statutory and Legal Commission.
