US President Obama congratulates Prime Minister Janez Janša

The Slovenian Prime Minister, Janez Janša, received many letters of congratulations from Slovenia and abroad on his appointment, including a message from the US President, Barack Obama.

 

In his congratulatory message, President Obama emphasised that what unites the two countries are their efforts to resolve the many issues that remain open, including the global economic crisis, and to ensure long-term stability in the Western Balkans and Afghanistan. It is for this reason that constructive cooperation between the US and Slovenia is now more important than ever, added President Obama, while congratulating the new Slovenian Prime Minister on his appointment.
