Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, receives the Federal Minister of Health of Australia, Tanya Plibersek

Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, met today with the Federal Minister of Health of Australia, Tanya Plibersek. The Minister, who is of Slovenian origin, is on a two-day visit to Slovenia. It is the highest Australian visit to the Republic of Slovenia so far, which also marks the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

 

In their talks, Prime Minister Janša and Australian Minister Plibersek stressed the traditionally good and friendly relations between the countries which open the door to a closer economic cooperation. The partners exchanged their views on the current economic and financial crisis faced by Europe and on the reform agenda of the last decade which contributed to the good condition of Australian economy today. The Prime Minister acquainted his colleague with the efforts for the rehabilitation of the banking system, implementation of necessary reforms and the recovery of Slovenian economy and improvement of Slovenian business environment for foreign investors. Minister Plibersek outlined the role of the state in the field of health and education in Australia.
