Before today's European Council meeting in Brussels, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, met with the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Nečas. The two prime ministers assessed bilateral relations between the Republic of Slovenia and the Czech Republic as traditionally excellent, remembered the twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and underlined the high level of bilateral economic cooperation in place. They also exchanged views on the measures both countries had adopted to tackle the economic crisis, agreeing that the creation of new jobs is an option for economic growth. They also discussed the topics on today's European Council agenda at length. Since the two countries share a number of views on certain European issues, particularly with regard to the multi-annual financial framework, the two prime ministers agreed to strive for even closer cooperation in these areas.
