The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, congratulates Iztok Čop and Luka Špik on their extraordinary success in men’s double sculls at the London Olympics

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, congratulated Iztok Čop and Luka Špik on their extraordinary success in winning the second medal for Slovenia at the London Olympics today.

 

The Prime Minister wrote that not many athletes had competed in Slovenian colours ever since the country’ independence and continued to rank among the best in the world.  The Prime Minister said that their sporting career offered one more proof that one success produced another and wished them continued success for the future in both their professional and personal lives. He added that today’s medal capped just another event in their rich career that would make them go down not only in Slovenia's but also in the world's sporting history and said that Slovenia was proud of them.
