During today’s conversation, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Janez Janša, acquainted the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr Danilo Türk, with the difficult fiscal situation faced by the country and the consequences of the opposition to incorporating the golden fiscal rule into the Constitution. The Prime Minister pointed to the need for uniform messages signalled to the outside world by Slovenia's politicians concerning measures aimed at exiting the crisis as well as to the consequences of broken promises during the past few years and to the high price paid by Slovenia due to the belated and improper response to the crisis and loss of credibility.

The Prime Minister acquainted the President of the Republic with the measures being prepared by the Government to improve the country's internal and external financial situation and with the urgent need to establish the responsibility for the current state of Slovenia's banking system.
