"The participants in the meeting expressed some degree of good will to remove the barriers that threaten the two key anti-crisis measures. I hope that this good will will continue and that it will also be demonstrated during extensions of coordination meetings, both with the trade union that made a request, i.e. fan initiative to start collecting signatures for a referendum on the legislation governing the stability of the banking system, and with one of the opposition parties that required a referendum on the Slovenian Sovereign Holding Act. As one of the opposition parties failed to attend the meeting, the Government is not familiar with its views but is willing to include them in future coordination efforts. This is our pledge made at the last meeting between the presidents of the parliamentary parties, which was held at these same premises in July.

I would like to point out that the time available is not unlimited and that the clock is mercilessly ticking away. Nevertheless, there is still enough time for those who are willing to work for the wellbeing of this country. The coordination of concepts alone is no longer possible, as it has already been done after the agreement reached in July, August and September. Much has been said and the Government has considered many proposals concerning the two adopted acts, including the fact that there are now two acts instead of one and that there are now two separate instruments regulating the stability of the banking system and the Slovenian Sovereign Holding. The Government is willing to pursue its coordination efforts jointly with the representatives of the trade unions that made an initiative to call a referendum on the legislation governing the stability of the banking system and with the opposition, in the same way as it has reached an agreement with representatives of the trade union for the energy sector, who then withdrew their request for a referendum on the Slovenian Sovereign Holding. The Government has made it clear in advance that some trade union's requests are unacceptable. The Government has absolutely no objection to representatives of social partners and opposition participating in the control of these institutions. The Government has offered the same options as during my first term of office. In this respect, all things are still open. However, it is not possible now to discuss one or the other method of bank rehabilitation or management of state-owned assets, as the curtain has dropped on this issue. "
