Prime Minister Janez Janša: "Slovenian athletes are top ambassadors of our country"

"Slovenian athletes are top ambassadors of our country," Prime Minister Janša said, expressing his joy over the victory of Slovenian snowboarder Rok Marguč, who won the gold medal at the Parallel Slalom World Championship in Stoneham. The world champion Marguč, who today has become the best ever Slovenian snowboarder, is the third Slovenian athlete winning the gold medal at an important international competition today. Prime Minister Janša also congratulated the team of young female ski jumpers who became the new world team champions at the Junior World Ski Jumping Championship on Saturday. The gold medal winners at the team competition in Liberec, Czech Republic, were Urša Bogataj, Ema Klinec, Špela Rogelj and Katja Požun.

 

"I am proud of all our athletes who this weekend won the gold medal in winter sports. They have proven that we, Slovenians, are capable of performing better. We are capable of being the best and, above all, we are capable of being united, " the Prime Minister added.
