JERNEJ PAVLIČ, STATE SECRETARY

Jernej Pavlič was born on 18 January 1984 in Jesenice, where he spent his youth. In his place of birth he also visited Prežihov Voranc Primary School. He continued his education at Radovljica Secondary School of Economics and Tourism.  In 2007, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana where he also obtained his Bologna master's degree two years later. 

 

During his studies, he worked in different enterprises, mainly in the sales departments and in other fields of work where the results depend on person's skills and abilities.  At that time, he also developed together with his business partners some successful start-up ideas and companies where he gained a lot of knowledge. Among them, the most interesting are Slovenia Explorer, a Slovenia travel guide, and Clipsna.com, an entertainment web TV.  

 

After completing his postgraduate studies, Mr Pavlič was selected by Slovenia's leading pharmaceutical company Krka d.d. as sales representative for the Kazakhstan market. Upon conclusion of his traineeship he decided to try his hand at being entrepreneur and to date he has done it with success. For some time, he was also demonstrator at the entrepreneurship course of prof. dr. Aleš Vahčič at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana.  

 

In his leisure time, Mr Pavlič finds relaxation in jogging and fitness. He became engaged in politics already during his studies when he was elected deputy in the Student Assembly of the Student Organisation of the University of Ljubljana. He joined Zoran Janković’s List –  Positive Slovenia at the party’s constitutive congress prior to parliamentary elections in 2011.
