Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek expressed her satisfaction with the agreement initialled on Friday and approved today by the Serbian Government and by the Kosovo Parliament. The agreement reached by Ivica Dačić and Hasim Thaçi, Prime Ministers of Serbia and Kosovo, shows a firm will and commitment of both countries to search for compromise and development within the framework of European integration processes. According to the Slovenian Prime Minister, the agreement is a signal to the region that a constructive and effective dialogue may bring solutions which show how important regional dialogue is and how crucial good neighbouring relations are for the stability and the development of all Western Balkans countries.

Slovenia's Prime Minister expects, however, that the two countries will immediately start implementing the agreement and also continue with their actions towards a complete normalisation of relations. Ms Bratušek also reiterated the commitment of Slovenia to actively assist the Western Balkans countries in their endeavours to join the European Union and said she expects the EU to adopt concrete decisions in the light of the successful dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, solutions that will facilitate their advancement in European integration processes. Slovenia will continue to implement this policy, actively and openly, also in the context of bilateral relations with the two countries.
