The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, is to pay a visit to the Republic of Austria on 10 June 2013. This is the first visit of the new Prime Minister to a neighbouring country. It provides an opportunity to discuss topical bilateral, European and international issues of importance for both countries and an occasion to present the Slovenian measures addressing the financial and economic crisis in the country.  Within the framework of the visit, Slovenian Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek will meet with Austrian Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann, National Council President Barbara Prammer and National Bank Governor Ewald Nowotny. The talks will also feature the key issues in bilateral cooperation, topical European issues and developments in other areas of international policy.

Slovenia and Austria have developed good, friendly and partner ties as well as extensive economic, political and neighbour relations; through the bilateral dialogue, this visit will contribute to upgrading Slovenian-Austrian relations in the regional, European and multilateral contexts in which the two countries make efforts to strengthen their influence and potential to realize joint interests through mutual cooperation.
