Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek in private audience with Pope Francis on hope and future of youth

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, concluded her two-day visit to the Italian Republic and Vatican. Today, she had a private audience with Pope Francis and also met with the Cardinal Secretary of State, Tarcisio Bertone.

 

The Slovenian Prime Minister's meeting with Pope Francis was dedicated to the further development and strengthening of relations between the two countries. Slovenia wishes to continue the dialogue and cooperation at all levels and attaches great importance to good relations with the Holy See. The two leaders devoted special attention to the future of youth and to hope.

 

Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek explained that she also looked forward to multilateral cooperation and wished that Slovenia would continue to participate in various multilateral forums. At the conclusion of the visit Ms Bratušek invited Pope Francis to visit Slovenia.
