Slovenian Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek receives Their Imperial Highness Prince and Princess Akishino of Japan

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today received Their Imperial Highness Prince and Princess Akishino of Japan at Brdo pri Kranju. The visit marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Slovenia and Japan that both countries celebrated last year. In discussion with Prince and Princess, the Slovenian Prime Minister paid attention to strengthening cooperation between the countries, particularly in the area of science, culture and economy. The Prime Minister also supported the setting up of the Centre for Japanese Studies in Ljubljana that should promote the study of Japanese language and culture in Central and South-Eastern Europe. They agreed that the establishment of contacts especially among young people provides a basis for good cooperation between the two countries.
