Slovenian Prime Minister, Alenka Bratušek, attended today in Celje the opening of the 46th International Trade Fair. She stressed in her address that Celje is the annual meeting point of the most entrepreneurial, innovative and courageous among us, who display their best products and services of Slovenian crafts and entrepreneurship. "Each and every one of us seeks new ways, new ideas and new approaches, as well as answers to questions of how to make our world better. Without innovations and responses to changes it will be difficult to adopt and implement measures necessary for the economic growth and a speedy exiting the crisis," added the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister then focused on the work done by the Government in the last six months in order to contribute to the improvement of the economic situation in the country. She stated that everything was prepared for the beginning of the clearing of Slovenian banks; they revised the unrealistic budget and gained the trust of Europe which positively evaluated the stability programme. "Apart from this, we provided additional funds to support the economy and reduced unemployment, increased export as well as agreed about the pay cuts in the public sector. Who can say that nothing has been done?" added Prime Minister  Bratušek and added that the first results of several months of work are already visible.

A significant part of preparations for the adoption of measures targeted the economy, chambers and associations, "whom I approached with the request to cooperate, to find, together with other stakeholders, solutions that will take Slovenia forward."  According to the Prime Minister, not all of them respected the agreements, but things that happened in the past cannot be changed.  "I am convinced that we did everything that was possible in these first six months. There are difficult tasks ahead of us. As we are aware of these, we are not afraid," stressed the Prime Minister and ended her speech with the thought that Slovenia has several advantages and that it would make the best of them with the help of daring projects displayed at the fair. Thus our economy will be strengthened as it exits the crisis and the indicators in the field of Slovenian crafts and entrepreneurship will turn positive.
