Prime Minister receives Eurogroup President

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today received the President of the Eurogroup and the Minister of Finance of the Netherlands, Jeroen Dijsselbloem. During their talks, Ms Bratušek outlined the situation in Slovenia and the measures that are being taken by the Government to deal with the crisis.

 

The Slovenian Prime Minister explained what measures are being taken to deal with the problems in the banking sector and achieve fiscal consolidation. She briefed the Eurogroup President on the progress made on privatisation. In their talks, special attention was devoted to the recovery of the banking system. In this regard, the Prime Minister reiterated that the Government would insist that the same criteria as those used for Slovenia in the review of banks’ assets and stress tests would apply to all other eurozone members next year. The Eurogroup President welcomed the efforts and commitment of the Slovenian Government to counter the effects of the economic and financial crisis on its own.
