The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today visited the Dolenjska region. Her trip included a meeting with the management of Krka d.d. Novo mesto, a tour of its pharmaceutical production units, and visits to Novo mesto School Centre and the Pleterje Charterhouse.

After the talks, she was given a tour of the production plant, Notol. Prime Minister Bratušek stressed that she was particularly pleased with the data showing growth in the number of Krka employees and the amount of the company's average wage, which highly exceeds the Slovenia's average. "I was especially happy to learn that the company employs as many as 60 per cent of women. The management board as well has a 40 per cent share of women," the Prime Minister added. President of the Krka Management Board Jože Colarič assured the Prime Minister that with regard to the property tax the company would continue to pay the same amount as before. "We will not burden the economy with this new tax," the Prime Minister underlined.

Prime Minister Bratušek then visited Novo mesto School Centre, which in her words is the biggest school centre in Slovenia, training a large number of personnel needed in this area. She said that "cooperation between the economy and education is of vital importance to keep the economy successful also in the future. This part of Slovenia is facing some minor issues related to the drawing on the EU funds and I am convinced that through cooperation they will be effectively solved." Prime Minister Bratušek concluded her visit to Dolenjska with a tour of the Pleterje Charterhouse.
