The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, today received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain, José Manuel Garcia-Margallo. At the meeting, the two statesmen focused mostly on economic cooperation, discussing responses to the economic crisis in both countries.  Both Slovenia and Spain are facing the impacts of the economic crisis such as high unemployment, problems in the banking sector and over-indebtedness of companies; however, in both countries, first signs of economic recovery can be noted as a result of measures adopted.  The Slovenian Prime Minister informed the Spanish Minister of the privatisation process of state-owned companies and other measures being adopted by the Government to achieve economic growth as soon as possible, emphasising that both countries would significantly benefit from the increase in economic cooperation which has the potential to grow.
