The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, visited Kočevje. Within her visit, she attended the opening of the renovated building of the Kočevje Grammar and Secondary School and visited the Intersocks Company and the Kočevje Home for the Elderly.

In her address at the ceremony marking the opening of the new building of the Kočevje Grammar and Secondary School which was destroyed by fire, the Prime Minister emphasized that she is convinced that in the renovated school the secondary school students and employees will continue to implement important secondary education programmes with even greater success. "Through vocational education the entire region will gain high-tech knowledge which is needed by local enterprises and the entire economy," said the Prime Minister and added: "We are, therefore, pleased that you have succeeded in completing the renovation of the building destroyed by fire despite all the obstacles and I hope that you will take good advantage of the new premises."

Later in the visit, Prime Minister Bratušek and the Minister of Economic Development and Technology, Metod Dragonja, met with the management of the Intersocks Company.  During the meeting, the Prime Minister expressed her satisfaction with the fact that Slovenia still has textile companies which – despite the crisis – maintain successful business and are present in international markets.  The Prime Minister concluded her visit to Kočevje with a meeting with the residents and the management of the Kočevje Home for the Elderly, where the discussions were mainly focused on the construction of a new section of the Home.  At the conclusion of her visit, Prime Minister Bratušek assured once again that Ljubljana has not forgotten Kočevje and that the measures adopted in the region will have a positive impact on employment growth and economic recovery.
