On the second day of her visit to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, Prime Minister of Slovenia, Ms Alenka Bratušek, attended the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting under the Chairmanship of Japan, with the United Kingdom and Slovenia as Vice-Chairs.

OECD today published the Spring Forecast of Economic Trends which, similar as yesterday's forecasts of the European Commission, confirms that Slovenia is on the right track of economic recovery. According to the OECD projections, Slovenia is to have a 0.3% economic growth this year, while further strengthening is expected in 2015, resulting in a 1.2% economic growth. While pointing out the positive effects of the measures adopted by the Government, OECD notes that reforms aimed at sustainable economic growth will have to continue in the following years. "The forecasts for our country have changed from bad to much more favourable, for this year as well as for the next one, which proves that our work in the last year has been done more than well. Needless to say, the measures have to continue. I am certain that activities aimed at boosting the economic growth will continue despite the political situation," said the Prime Minister.

On the margins of the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting, Ms Bratušek has met with the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr Shinzo Abe. In their talks Ms Bratušek expressed her satisfaction with the intensified political cooperation between the two countries and stressed that Slovenia wishes to strengthen the economic cooperation as well. She said that enhanced economic cooperation requires the promotion of several aspects, including foreign direct investments. She also outlined the process of privatisation in Slovenia. The prime ministers also touched upon current international issues, as the Prime Minister of Japan expressed his interest in the reform processes in the area of the Western Balkans. The Prime Minister of Slovenia invited her Japanese counterpart on a meeting in the framework of the Brdo Process to be held next year at Brdo pri Kranju.
