The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, opened new premises of the Department of Haematology of the Internal Medicine Division at the UMC Ljubljana, which are now ready to receive patients after years of complications and problems. The Government earmarked EUR 11,044,850 for the project and thus paved the way to finding a solution for the haematology department which before that operated in inadequate premises and in unbearable conditions. In her speech, Prime Minister expressed her delight that "the public health care system has overcome yet another challenge".

Ms Bratušek explained that Slovenia's economic situation is turning for the better, which is confirmed by the latest figures and "this gives us more room for manoeuvre to also solve problems in the area of health care." Prime Minister expressed her thanks to everyone who had participated in the implementation of the project by adding that "today is a great day for both patients and the staff who will be able to work and pursue their mission in better and patient-friendlier premises." She wished all staff much success in their work and a comfortable stay and quick recovery to the patients.
