US President Obama congratulates Prime Minister Alenka Bratušek: "You are taking office at an important moment in your country's history."

The Slovenian Prime Minister, Alenka Bratušek, received many letters of congratulations from Slovenia and abroad on her appointment, including a message from the US President, Barack Obama.

 

The US President congratulated the Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia on her historic confirmation. "I value the strong bilateral ties between the United States and the Republic of Slovenia, as well as our shared commitment as NATO allies to advancing peace and security across the globe, from the Balkans to Afghanistan," was one of Obama's thoughts written in the note.

 

President Obama added that Prime Minister Bratušek took office at an important moment in our country's history, so he wished her every success in undertaking the difficult but necessary reforms required to secure Slovenia's long-term prosperity. President Obama added that he looks forward to working with the Prime Minister as they continue to deepen the relationship between Slovenia and the USA and strengthen the transatlantic community to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
