The Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Alenka Bratušek, together with the Minister of Finance, Uroš Čufer, today received the newly elected Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, Boštjan Jazbec.   After the meeting, the Prime Minister explained that Slovenia was facing very serious and demanding tasks in the area of financial consolidation of the state which would only be resolved through cooperation and highest professional work. "Therefore, I am looking forward to working with Boštjan Jazbec and I wish him all the best for his work," said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister particularly emphasised that the Bank of Slovenia had its powers and autonomy in which she did not intend to interfere. On the other hand, the Bank of Slovenia plays a leading role, particularly in the regulation and supervision of banks, and since these are the biggest tasks the Slovenian Government is confronted with, the cooperation with this institution is of paramount importance.

The Prime Minister concluded by adding: "I am pleased that the three of us, if I may joke a little bit, are the Slovenian Troika, who are convinced and determined to solve the problems on our own without the need for any other troika."
